The Day of the Doctor by Civil-War-Casualty The Day of the Doctor by Civil-War-Casualty
So a few days ago 1D came out with an announcement declaring that the 23rd of November was '1D Day' I don't know if they know they planned this on the 50th Anniversary or not but seriously! Do some research, both things are from the UK why would try to plan an event that would take away from another where the date was established months ago. I don't mind One Direction, I don't like them and I don't hate them they're just there to me; but seriously you do not mess with Doctor Who especially on the 50th.

Like it or hate it, made you look ;)

"A TV SHOW IS DOING A THING ON A CERTAIN DAY! THE REST OF THE WORLD BETTER SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP BECAUSE....BECAUSE WE SAID SO, DAMNIT!"

...I love the fuck out of Doctor Who, but christ on a cracker anyone who is honestly UPSET about this issue needs to have a glass of wine and reevaluate their life. It's a TV SHOW. It's not a SACRED NATIONAL HOLIDAY, so calm down people.

I cant say this enough. ITS A TV SHOW.

So, Dr. Who first aired the day after president John F. Kennedy was assassinated?  A bit of bizarre timing.  Good luck with your feud.

Unless you really like both (in which case, watch whichever one you can record later), who gives two shits if something's happening on the same day? That's like crying about two movies being released at the same time when you only want to watch one. Go enjoy whichever you prefer and stop moaning and groaning over nothing. Goodness!

Rassilon forbid that two television events come out on the same day :roll:

Rassilon is probably behind it. Rassilon is pretty much to blame for every shitty thing in the Whoniverse.

No wonder the Doctor never liked his fellow Time Lords much.

Did you ever listen to Zagreus? Holy shit, Rassilon didn't just wipe out the vampires (who weren't evil until the Time Lords tried to genocide them), he was so convinced about the superiority of humanoid life that he exterminated whole species to ensure the dominance of humanoid life forms in the universe. He also trapped the universe of anti-time inside his basement to eventually destroy it, and purposely manipulated the Doctor to be overwhelmed by anti-time matter so he could be used as a weapon to destroy that universe.

Actually I started watching DW during Smith's run and am slowly working my way back so my knowledge of the lore is incomplete ^^;

Similar story here. I was aware of Who but I didn't really get into it until Smith's run.

But the Big Finish audioplays with the 8th Doctor are amazing.

For me it was: Tried watching DW but Smith's performance as a cosmic hipster five-year-old, combined with the tumblr tweenie fandom, turned me off; started watching some of the Tennant and Eccleston episodes but was rather meh about it until the announcement in August; became enthusiastic again after a quick Google and renting In the Loop and watching The Thick of It.

I'll give you that Smith's a bit too tweenie, but that's only due to his age. When you realize he's basing his performance and mannerisms off the 2nd Doctor, it becomes much more endearing.

So what if it's on the same day? There's not that big an overlap in the fandoms. Whovians can still enjoy the Day of the Doctor without losing anything to One Direction.

I dislike the band myself, but right now the Whovians online aren't acting any more mature than the teenage girls who fuel One Direction. :roll:

You'd think they'd have a little respect at least to not put it on the same day
